A full range of tours may be booked at our motel tour desk and for most tours courtesy transport can be arranged from the motel and for return to the motel.
Fraser Island.
Hervey Bay is the gateway to world heritage listed Fraser Island, the world’s largest sand island. Guests may choose from 1,2 or 3 day fully guided tours, which include meals and accommodation if staying more than 1 day. With expert commentary you will visit one of the island’s lush rainforests, one of the many lakes for which the island is famous, Eli Creek, the 75 mile beach and the wreck of the Maheno.
Whale Watching
If you want to enjoy the best whale watching in the world then come to Hervey Bay from mid July to the end of October. During this time the majestic humpbacks choose to visit Hervey Bay and entertain us with a very up-close experience. You will marvel at the awesome size of these wonderful animals as they play in the Bay’s calm waters. There is a choice of whale boats offering morning, afternoon or full day tours.
Lady Elliot Island
Hervey Bay is the southern gateway to the Great Barrier Reef with daily flights to Lady Elliot Island, situated just to the north of Fraser Island. Lady Elliot is a coral island which boasts some of the best coral viewing in the world. You have the choice of a day trip with at least 6 hours to explore the Island’s wonders or you can stay in the Island Resort for a day or two.
Other trips and activities
Maryborough, the heritage city and Bundaberg are located within easy driving distance for a day tour from Hervey Bay. Or you may wish to do a cruise in the sheltered waters of the Bay or perhaps a fishing tour. Other attractions include the regional gallery, the go kart track, the botanic gardens, the model railway and horseriding. The new Hervey Bay Water Park is less than 15 minutes walk.
Activities available for your pleasure or recreation include swimming in the Bay’s safe waters or walking/running/ cycling (cycles may be hired) along the 14km of the Esplanade pathway.
There is ample opportunity to enjoy tennis, golf, lawn bowls, 10 pin bowling or the cinema with its latest release movies. |
